XPAVE chosen for tram station refurb in Stockholm

Greater Stockholm local transit company ‘Storstockholms Lokaltrafik AB’ has recently completed an extensive refurbishment project involving many tram stops within the city centre. A new contemporary design was selected including a mixture of paving finishes, with platform structures and furniture in steel. The project architect chose XPAVE 600 x 600 recessed access covers by Elkington for their high-quality and discreet design. Units were supplied in hot-dipped Galvanised Steel (6mm gauge) for added durability to resist cold winter months in Sweden. The load class selected was D400kN to withstand the early morning commuter rush. Project contractors Skanska commented that XPAVE units were high-quality and quick to install; with technical engineers from Elkington providing close support at every stage.
